Auctioneer Updates: Converter and Vendor searches, tooltip additions
May 14, 2008 AddOns, Auction House, How-To
As you may have heard, Auctioneer got a few updates recently. What really stuck out at me was the new additions to the SearchUI - Converter and Vendor searches.
Originally, if you wanted to look for vendor deals, you had to turn on BottomScanner while scanning the entire Auction House and click through each deal that Auctioneer found. Pain in the ass!
Now you can pop open your SearchUI of Auctioneer Advanced (the magnifying glass icon in the yellow tab on the side of your screen) and search your last AH scan for any items you can bid/buy and sell directly to the vendor for a small, but quick profit. This is a great feature for building starting capital on a new bank alt.
Another feature added to the SearchUI is the Converter search. With this function, you can browse for any motes, greater or lesser essence, etc. that you can instantly convert (into primals, lesser or greater essence, etc.) and resell for profit.
And finally, there’s more tooltip tidbits. Your tooltips should now show the deposit cost of listing an item on the AH for 24 hours. There’s also a new “suggestion” line under the AH deposit cost. Auctioneer tries to keep track of where an item came from (whether you bought it to DE, convert, resell, or otherwise) and reminds you what to do with it. Very handy for those doing a ton of buying (bidding in particular) and selling.

Aw, hell. There goes a good chunk of my current income. The new Converter will automate what I’ve been doing for months & making a fortune on!

Is auctioneer advanced worth giving another try? I downloaded it the last time my Auctioneer database filled up; the guts seemed good, but the functionality was nowhere near its’ predecessor, so I switched back.

The enchanting bit is useful, but the motes? Forget it. I check that stuff all the time on my server and I’ve never seen ( a total of) ten motes purchasable for any cheaper than *maybe* 25-50s the primal cost.

True - but there is another addon that splits stack costs and shows the price per single item. Very handy.
in the case of motes, say a primal fire goes for 40g. Thats 4g a mote. Check motes and often you’l see single or stacks of 2 or 3 for 1.2 to 2.5g a mote. Buy these - they add up quite quickly to a stack and you’ve doubled your money.

Not on my server. Motes are 99% of the time more expensive than primals. Something I can get ten motes for about 25 or 50s less than a primal, but not often.

My server doesn’t have as dilligent of AH watchers as some servers. There are a bunch of split/combine deals going on w/ mine.
The Void/LPS/SPS market is crazy right now.
Voids = 35-38g
LPS = 20-24g
SPS = 12-15g
Now you have to realize that 1 Void = 2 LPS = 6 SPS
So investing in 1 Void at the most expensive (38g) = a 36g profit if the SPS sell at 12g each.
Granted it takes some time to break the voids & LPS’s down, but for that kind of profit…

@KJ, type /nsb on. You should see a side panel open up, scroll over it and click on the magnifying glass.

Far from it, April. We are busy behind the scenes working on some great tools to launch with a brand new design. I’ll try to write up a few new posts to keep you guys occupied until we get the tools complete.

On my server, the motes always sell for more then the primals.

Jewelcrafters on US Horde Medivh. The main jewelcrafter on Medivh quit playing wow, you guys have to step in and make some jewels! Charge premium if you have to, but seriously there are no uncommon cut jewels in AH. Terrible! :*(
