Netherweave Cloth
Mar 29, 2008 Auction House
This one is dead easy guys. It won’t make you thousands of gold but it’ll help to fill in some holes from repairing, or other daily expenses. If you ever see Netherweave Cloth for under 3g a stack, buy it up immediately. Once that’s done, you convert it into Heavy Netherweave Bandages and go vendor it. The profit you just made is 3g minus the price you bought the cloth at. Easy as butter.

File this under “no duh” and a /facepalm for myself. Never thought about this conversion though I’d do it all the time for silk and runecloth. Spent couple hundred gold on netherweave on my server, made a 20% profit or so on making bandages. Won’t get mount money quickly this way, but its easy to make raid repairs money.

Making regular Netherweave Bandages makes more money actually, but takes double the time.

Wow, thanks, and the timing of this is right on. I’ve been seeing a huge influx of Netherweave Cloth (which I always make into bandages) in my inventory thanks to all the new dailies. Never even considered selling them. Awesome tip.

How does making regular Netherweave bandages make more money when reg vendors for 12s 75c and the heavy for 30s?
That makes a stack of netherweave worth 2g 55s vs. 3g.

Am I the only one that thinks that 30s x20 in a stack makes 6g, not 3g?
Come on guys - you are supposed to be the math geniuses (genii?)

Fox :
20 Netherweave Cloth = 10 Heavy Netherweave bandages = 3g. Simple math.

Read this the other day and for the past week I always check the auction house at night before I log off, in the morning before work, and right when I get home from work. Each time I usually find about 10 stacks of cloth going for as cheap as 2.5G and today I even found some at 2.2G. Has made me an easy 70G in the past week. At level 66 this helps prepare for the flying mount cost.

A better way to break down the Netherweave heavy/regular comparison is to compare the worth of individual units.
A stack of 20 Netherweave cloth converts to a 3g stack of 10 heavy bandages, so:
3 / 20 = 0.15 (or 15 silver per cloth)
If a stack of regular bandages goes for 2g55s, then:
2.55 / 20 = 0.1275 (or 12 silver 75 copper)
When you’re cruising the Netherweave listings, the new tooltip info that gives price per unit makes this really simple. You want to find any Netherweave cloth selling for less than 15 silver per unit if you’re making heavy bandages, or less than 12 silver 75 copper per unit if you’re making regular bandages.
Now you tell me which one has the bigger profit margin? Actually, nevermind, I’ll tell you.
Do you want to sell that cloth for 15s each, or 12s75c each?
If you’re hunting for 12s74c per unit, you’re not only narrowing your profit, but you’re ruling out all those bandages going for 12.75-14.99 per unit. You’re not just narrowing your profit margin, you’re narrowing your market.
On top of all that, you’re doubling the time it takes to turn those bandages around. And it’s like they say, “Time is money, friend!”

Doing a little math myself. The deposit for 12 hours for a stack of Netherweave is 24s. So just from that you see that you have to list your stack of NW at 3g24s. BUT you now have to include the 5% house cut.
With all that math, it comes out that if you list your stack on the AH for 3g,41s,06c then you will break even…well a 1c profit really but that is not worth my time.
3.41.06 asking price
- 0.24.00 deposit
3.17.06 remaining
3.41.06 asking price
x 0.05 % house cut of sell
0.17.05 house cut
3.17.06 remaining for profit after listing
- 0.17.05 house cut
0.00.01 profit

Good stuff lehtinen. I told a good RL friend about this trick and hounded him later for putting up a stack of Netherweave for 3g10s.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you can dominate the greater majority of low priced bids on Netherweave (people often make wacky posts like 5g buyout 2g bid, which gets ignored by the majority) by simply bidding on every profitable set of Netherweave.
Each day you log into a new batch of steady income.

You get your AH deposit back after your auction sells, Lehtinen
